About this development

A closer look

Bow Green is a major new residential development by St James, part of the Berkeley Group, positioned in East London between the City, Canary Wharf and Stratford. Designed as a new neighbourhood where urban living and nature come together, the development will deliver approximately 1,450 new homes integrated within extensive landscaped green spaces. At its heart, Bow Park creates a distinctive natural focal point, complemented by a residents’ Botanical Garden, Maple Mews and landscaped routes connecting the development with the wider East London green corridor. Bow Green also incorporates the restored heritage building at 120 Bow and the cobbled Bow Yard, combining the character of the existing site with contemporary architecture and public spaces.

Residents have access to an extensive collection of private lifestyle and wellness facilities through The Bow Club. These include an indoor swimming pool and landscaped outdoor Serenity Pool, state-of-the-art gym with a dedicated boxing ring, sauna, steam room and treatment room, alongside a residents’ lounge, Reading Corner, Garden Room and a 32-seat IMAX cinema. The Botanical Garden provides a private landscaped retreat with seating, fruit trees and aromatic herbs, while the development also offers a 24-hour concierge. Everyday amenities are incorporated directly into the neighbourhood, including a convenience store and The Canopy, an all-day café, restaurant and bar designed around Bow Green’s nature-led concept. Bow Yard provides an additional social hub with market stalls, outdoor dining and community spaces while remaining separated from the quieter residential areas.

The residential element is arranged across a collection of buildings including Bow View Apartments, Botanical Apartments and Bower Apartments, set around the landscaped heart of the masterplan. The overall design places nature at the centre of everyday life, with homes overlooking gardens and green spaces and selected residences benefiting from private balconies. The wider neighbourhood has been conceived to connect homes with parkland, residents’ amenities, dining and working spaces rather than functioning simply as a collection of apartment buildings. Sustainability is also embedded within the development, with landscaped habitats designed to support biodiversity, rainwater harvesting for gardens and landscaped areas, energy-efficient appliances and lighting, enhanced insulation and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery incorporated into the homes.

Bow Green occupies a well-connected position within what the brochure describes as East London’s “Golden Triangle”, formed by the City, Canary Wharf and Stratford. Three Underground and DLR stations are within approximately a 14-minute walk, providing access to the Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines as well as the DLR. Mile End and Devons Road are around a 12-minute walk away, while Bow Road is approximately 14 minutes on foot. From the surrounding transport network, Stratford is one stop away, Liverpool Street two stops, Bank three stops and Canary Wharf five stops, while London City Airport is accessible in nine stops.

The surrounding area combines access to major employment centres with some of East London’s best-known green and leisure destinations. Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park sits directly opposite the development, Mile End Park is around a seven-minute walk away, Regent’s Canal is nearby, and Victoria Park, Broadway Market and Roman Road are also within easy reach. Queen Mary University of London is within walking distance, while the transport connections provide access to UCL, King’s College London, the London School of Economics and other major universities. Together, the park-led masterplan, extensive private amenities and connections to the City, Canary Wharf and Stratford position Bow Green as a nature-focused residential neighbourhood with direct access to central East London.
